The Intersection of Cardiometabolic Health and Sleep Disorders

TARGET AUDIENCE

Neurologists, primary care physicians, sleep disorder specialists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, registered dieticians, and other healthcare professionals caring for patients in general and those with sleep disorders.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

During this Masterclass, expert faculty will discuss the links between sleep disorders and cardiometabolic health, as well as practical approaches for screening, referral, or treatment.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Discuss the connections between sleep disorders or poor sleep and cardiometabolic health
  • Discuss the impact of poor sleep or sleep deprivation on cardiometabolic health
  • Review the evidence on the impacts of sleep disorders in exacerbating cardiometabolic risk and disease, including type 2 diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and obesity
  • Screen cardiometabolic patients for sleep disorders or sleep deprivation and modify therapy accordingly to improve quality of life and overall outcomes

For Pharmacists: Upon completion of the online evaluation, your credit will be submitted to CPE Monitor within 4-6 weeks. Pharmacists have up to thirty (30) days from the live event to complete the evaluation and claim credit.

CONTINUING NURSING EDUCATION

The maximum number of hours awarded for this Continuing Nursing Education activity is 5.5 contact hours. Pharmacotherapy contact hours for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses will be designated on your certificate.

CONTINUING DIETICIAN EDUCATION

This program offers 5.5 CPEUs for dieticians.
