Case Study - Tackling Diabetic Kidney Disease Progression: Challenges, Advances, and Novel Approaches

The coexistence of type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease significantly exacerbates cardiovascular and renal morbidity and mortality compared to either condition alone. Despite advances in therapy, many patients with DKD progress to kidney failure and have significant cardiovascular adverse events, and current strategies to address cardiorenal risk in these patients are inadequate. This interactive activity will walk you through a case of a patient with type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease, and it offers practical pearls and perspectives about screening and treatment considerations as highlighted in updated guidelines and evidence.

This activity is designed for US-based healthcare professionals, including primary care clinicians (PCPs), registered nurses, nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), endocrinologists, diabetologists, pharmacists, cardiologists, lipidologists, dieticians, and other allied health professionals.
