Cutting-Edge Wound Care in Dermatology: Addressing Knowledge Gaps and Utilizing Multidisciplinary Strategies

Acute and chronic wounds impact millions of individuals in the US each year. Advanced wound care, including interventions and products to treat wounds, is often needed to manage those that do not heal properly with standard care. Advanced wound care options now include various products and devices. Many dermatologists, however, do not specialize in wound care or have not received sufficient training to manage acute and chronic wounds. Therefore, clinicians will benefit from education on application of the latest products and techniques for wound care as well as how to collaborate with other HCPs to provide multidisciplinary wound management. This educational activity, presented as an online webcast, will provide expert-led guidance on the most current clinical options and practices for optimal wound care.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for an audience of physicians, nurses, and other advanced practice providers (nurse practitioners/physician assistants) in medical practices that specialize in dermatology.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Compare treatment options for wound healing, including measures for minimizing scar formation.
  • Utilize multidisciplinary care strategies to provide timely and effective care for acute and chronic wounds.
