The Role of a Pain Management Psychologist in a Multidisciplinary Team

The goal for this presentation is that all providers (MDs, RNs, Pharmacists, etc.,) will learn more about the role and responsibilities of a pain management mental health provider and therefore be able to make better referrals and better explain to patients why they would benefit from working with a pain management mental health provider. This presentation will teach participants the difference between a psychological generalist and a psychotherapist who specializes in helping clients who have medical issues. The presentation will include cases where patients have successfully benefitted from pain management psychotherapist interventions..
