Injections, Nerve Blocks, Pumps, and Spinal Cord Stimulation

This presentation will highlight common procedures used for pain reduction, their evidence base, and a basic description of how each procedure is performed. We will primarily review epidural steroid injections, facet joint blocks and denervation, sacroiliac joint injections and denervation, myofascial pain, spinal cord stimula¬tion, and intrathecal pumps.

  • Identify patients who may benefit from interventional procedures
  • Recognize procedural interventions for spinal/ non-spinal pain
  • Describe patients who may benefit from pain pumps and neural stimulation
