Diabolic Triad: Chronic Pain, Depression, and Sleep
Which came first the chicken or the egg..... chronic pain, depression or sleep disturbances? Chronic pain is a complex experience impacted by a multitude of factors. Most who struggle with chronic pain also struggle with sensory, cognitive-affective and behavioral issues including depression and sleep disturbances. All of these factors together can impact a person's overall functionality and sense of well-being. During this presentation, we will do a deep dive into the who, what, when, where, how and why with this sensory-cognitive/affective-behavioral diabolical triad. It is only through a comprehensive biopsychosocial approach can we best understand and effectively approach the WHOLE person who struggles with chronic pain.
