Customized is Always Better: Individualized Diets and Supplementation in Migraine

Migraine is a complex neurological disorder characterized by recurrent, debilitating headaches often accompanied by other symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound. It affects approximately 1 in 7 adults globally, leading to significant impairments in quality of life and productivity. While pharmacological treatments are commonly used for migraine management, there is growing recognition of the role of individualized diets and supplementation in mitigating migraine frequency and severity. This course aims to explore the integration of personalized nutrition strategies and supplementation in migraine management, addressing the need for holistic approaches to migraine care.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify key dietary triggers and patterns associated with migraines, enabling them to personalize dietary recommendations for migraine management. 
  • Evaluate the role of various dietary supplements in migraine prevention and treatment, including their mechanisms of action and evidence-based effectiveness.
  • Develop individualized dietary plans and supplementation strategies for patients with migraines, integrating evidence-based recommendations and considering individual patient preferences and comorbidities.
