CMHC Masterclass On Demand: Frontiers in Interventional Cardiology

This masterclass is designed to explore the latest advances about the most pertinent domains in interventional cardiology. Multidisciplinary experts will present on comprehensive interventional cardiology topics, including pre-procedural evaluation, pharmacological aspects, coronary intervention, peripheral intervention, structural intervention, and more. Each section will include patient cases and expert panel discussion, which will aim to provide practical approaches to patient management and interpret the latest advances to patient care.

Target Audience

US-based healthcare professionals, including primary care clinicians (PCPs), interventional cardiologists, cardiologists, registered nurses, advanced practice registered nurses, dieticians, pharmacists, and other allied health professionals.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Integrate advances in the screening, diagnosis, and risk assessment for patients with stable coronary and peripheral artery disease, as well those with acute coronary syndrome
  • Outline appropriate pharmacotherapy for patients ACS, CAD, and PAD before and after procedural interventions
  • Interpret the results from key clinical trials and evidence for patients with structural and valvular heart disease 
  • Evaluate the role of pharmacotherapy and evidence-based interventional technologies for the management of atrial fibrillation and arrhythmias
  • Discuss advances in pharmacotherapy and endovascular thrombectomy for stroke prevention inpatients with arrhythmias or VTE
  • Develop individualized treatment options and interventions for patients with CAD, PAD, ACS, arrhythmias, VTE, and structural/valvular heart disease that incorporate the latest advances in interventional technologies, drugs, and procedures to optimize outcomes
