3D Virtual Facial Anatomy and Injection Masterclass

Within the past decade, aesthetic medicine –particularly minimally invasive aesthetic practice – has significantly advanced. An increasingly common cultural emphasis on beauty and health has resulted in a surge in anti-aging technologies, minimally invasive aesthetic procedures and cosmeceuticals aimed at helping individuals achieve sprightly appearances with healthy skin. Aging populations are living longer, seeking ways to remain active and ameliorate cutaneous signs of aging while younger populations desire to maintain their youthful appearances and impede signs of aging skin.

As the most visible body part that is prone to aging, this 3D Virtual Facial Anatomy Masterclass will focus on the cosmetic anatomy and injection techniques for facial rejuvenation. Aesthetic physicians no longer see the face as two dimensional, tackling facial aging with skin tightening and draping; aging faces are now analyzed and treated three-dimensionally with a focus on natural-looking rejuvenation. Consisting of five modules led by expert faculty in aesthetic facial rejuvenation and incorporating animated injection videos, this activity will provide attendees with critical knowledge of facial anatomy, safety and efficacy information of current and emerging agents, and the necessary techniques needed to inject dermal fillers and neuromodulators for safe and natural facial rejuvenation.

Target Audience

This activity is designed to meet the needs US-based physicians, nurses and professional staff members of medical practices specializing in dermatology, plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery and other dermatologic medical procedures.

Learning Objectives

  • Interpret the efficacy and safety of non-invasive injectable agents currently available for facial rejuvenation and their injectable techniques
  • Apply the appropriate injectable agent or non-invasive procedure based on patients’ facial anatomy, agent properties, and appropriate injection technique, in order to treat different areas of the face and targeted planar depths.
  • Review the efficacy and safety of currently approved fillers for facial augmentation, and their appropriate injection techniques
  • Develop appropriate treatment interventions using dermal fillers for facial volume correction based on the latest evidence for current and new agents, appropriate injection techniques, and patient-specific characteristics.
